Maths

I have been learning all about graphs, My graphs are about sports.

Mrs Hinde’s Maths Challenge.

1 Finish creating all three graphs and send them to yourself.  The last graph is NOT a bar graph.

2 Put your first graph (Countries/medals) onto a doc.

3 Write four statements about your graph.
Eg There were ______ medals in total
USA was the most by _______ medal.
4 Write four number stories  showing difference. Use the data from the graph. Show your working.

Eg 153-38=  120
    155-40= 115

5 Repeat steps 2-4 on a different graph.
Boys = Red       Girls = green

Boys Like Rugby the most

Girls like Netball more than boys
Boys like the least of running
Girls like hockey the least
No boys like running

The difference between girls who like netball and boys is
13-7=6

The difference between Boys who like Rugby than girls is
12 - 6 = 6

The difference between Girls who like soccer than boys
8-5= 3
The difference between boys who like Hockey than Girls
9-2=7
The difference between Girls who like running then boys
11-0=11

Colour Poem

I have been learning how to do a colour Poem I have been rhyming

 Colour Poem

WALT to use descriptive language to help create an image (picture) in our reader's head

Success Criteria
  • Use adjectives to describe the noun
  • Use adverbs to describe the verb (describe how the action is happening)
  • Use a range of verbs to explain what is happening
  • Use a range of nouns that help us identify with a colour

EXAMPLES

Black is the Colour of…….

  • A wicked witch zooming dangerously from castle to castle in search of potions
  • A lazy cat waiting patiently by the roaring fire for its night-time feed
  • A  majestic panther stalking its prey tactfully through the dense forest
  • A piece of licorice inviting me to sneak it from the brightly coloured box

Red is the colour of ……..

  • Slippery lipstick running down my face
  • A bright red Ferrari zooming fast in the race
  • Blood running down my foot, puddling on the ground
  • A rotten strawberry smelling like cheese
  • The sweet juicy raspberry dripping  from my mouth as I bite into it
  • A juicy watermelon inviting me to chomp on it

My colour poem:
White is the colour of…….

Old man's hair falling out and getting balder
Light pale skin covering someone's body

Frothy gigantic waves zooming across water currents

Cute bulldog puppies chasing their bones

Big fluffy clouds towering like giant marshmallows over all the buildings
